The Pfm company has patented the first porcelain stoneware tile to be used for the thermal insulation of the external facades of buildings.
The product (called Isoclip), combining the qualities of the ceramic material with an innovative application system, recently won ‘the 2021 Oscar for construction’ at the Made expo in Milan, and was presented yesterday in the Province of Modena at presence of the mayor Fabio Braglia, the president of the Province Gian Domenico Tomei and the owners of the Fabrizio company. Morini and Raffaele Morini. «This company demonstrates – remarked the mayor of Palagano – how the Modena Apennines area does not live only on tourism, but can represent a real center of excellence for innovation. Pfm is an example of success, capable of creating jobs and proposing an environmentally friendly business model.»
But how does Isoclip work? «Everything can be assembled in three days – explained the owners – directly on the external walls of the building, without resorting to invasive work or demolition». The mortar is applied behind the wall, then the 120 mm EPS panel, followed by an adhesive layer and the ceramic sheet on the outside: «The system guarantees thermal insulation by keeping the internal temperature constant and reducing humidity levels. It ensures acoustic insulation, high resistance to impacts and scratches, and guarantees aesthetic performance because it allows the external insulation of any type of ceramic surface. It is available in the 600X1200X126 mm format. We have already had an order from an important ceramic company in Sassuolo.” And on the other hand, the period is propitious: the building renovation market is booming thanks to the fiscal super bonuses confirmed by the government. As Braglia already mentioned, the presentation of the product was an opportunity to highlight how valuable it can be to count on companies like these in an area like the mountains where it is complicated to conduct entrepreneurial activities: Pfm has been operating for 25 years, has 50 employees, one plant of 8 thousand square meters divided in four production lines. «Those who know the mountains – underlined Tomei – know how fundamental these numbers can be for the local economy. We as the Province are committed to supporting businesses that invest in the area. We recently had to deal with re-coating after hailstorms, when I saw the product in question I immediately thought that it would solve many problems.”
